We arrive on this planet with every thing that we need to heal ourselves, and when we came; our voices were rich with all the necessary frequencies to maintain us in a healthy state of resonance. Due to the conditioning of child hood and the suppression of our true thoughts and feelings and the accompanying sounds that go with them, by the time we arrive at adulthood our speaking voice no longer contains the same frequencies it did as a child. Our voice will always reflect our current mental and emotional states of being. When a person feels alive, healthy, happy and abundant, their voice sounds much different than if they are depressed, unhappy, angry or afraid. You may notice a difference in your own voice when speaking your truth compared to when you are not, it feels different in your body as well, and from an energetic standpoint the cells of your body are not getting the frequencies they need to stay healthy.
How many of us have given away our voice? Not only our singing voice, but how many of us have given away our voice in the sense of making our wishes known by speaking what is really true for us? And when we do speak up, are we lending our voice to what we wish to see or are
we speaking against what we are seeing, which from a frequency point of view is very different to the health of the body and the emotional state.
Our voices need to be exercised just like our bodies do; yet for the average person singing, laughing, and making sounds of appreciation are not something we do on a day-to-day basis. In times past, families and communities gathered together and they made sound their number one source of entertainment. Singing, drumming, dancing, and playing instruments in group gatherings was seen in all cultures, nations, and ethnic backgrounds. Today, we sadly rely on television and artificially produced sounds for our pleasure. Our voices have become rusty and lack life-giving frequencies. When I work with people and ask them to make sound, any sound, many of them become very uncomfortable, and I can feel their energy shrinking, yet it is these very sounds that need to be expressed.
I don't consider my voice to be particularly melodic; in fact I used to describe it as being able to peel paint. Yet I knew early on, that sound needed to be included as an important part of my healing journey, that my energetic field was being denied the full expression of my voice. I wanted to reclaim my power and began to work with toning and chanting as part of my meditation routine. By giving my mind something to focus on it was also easier to slip into a meditative state and my body relaxed more easily. The more relaxed I became, the more I noticed that the sounds I was making become richer and fuller and I knew I was creating something very beneficial. I had opened the door, and my body began to release tension, every nerve ending was being stimulated, and I had never felt so peaceful yet alive at the same time.
I now exercise my voice on a daily basis, and while I would never be without my crystal bowls and other sound healing tools, I consider my voice to be the most important tool that I have. It's free, its user friendly, it travels well, and best of all; I am no longer embarrassed about using it in front of others.
Much repressed energy can be released through sound work that frees up space for a fuller vibration in our speaking voices. When we start allowing the full freedom of our voice by connecting with our emotions, speaking our truth and using voice by toning, chanting or singing, we embark upon a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing process.
When you claim your voice, you claim your power. You summon, announce, and signal your intention and therefore your creation by the sounds that you make and the words that you speak.
The world is waiting for your voice.
